DSC_0373.jpg Artist/ Designer Amy Conway

With a curious and independent spirit, Santa Fe, NM artist and designer Amy Conway has traveled throughout the world where she has discovered and evolved her passion for color, textiles, poetry, painting and design. She translates her designs into sterling silver pendants, earrings, rings, bracelets and buckles as well as silk scarves, cotton bedding, skirts, handbags, lampshades, and whatever else she might imagine!

In her Santa Fe studio she combines words and images into works on board using venetian plaster, watercolor, pastels and found objects; from there her designs find their way onto fabric and jewelry. While she uses various media in her work, her intention remains to communicate the connection to one another, which in its essence is communicating the connection to Life itself.

While raising her two young children with her husband in Los Angeles, CA she began writing, which led to the publication of three natural health books. Following a move to Santa Fe, New Mexico, Amy pursued the study of acupuncture, becoming a Doctor of Oriental medicine with a thriving practice. It was after her first trip to India that she began her career as a painter and poet. As an accomplished writer, acupuncturist and now poet and painter, she has always been connected to the natural world, which continues its influence by guiding her, informing her designs, and dictating her images. Conway’s evolution as an artist allows for the constant creation of new designs. The highlighted Power Flowers Designs continues to bloom and grow into a myriad of forms!
